They serve hard to find pour over Intelligentsia coffee. Haven't tried the crepes because of a wheat allergy. Crepes are/were one of my favorite flour foods. Whenever I was in DC for work I would literally eat just crepes everyday. Now, that we finally have a crepe place In can't have them. Believe me the temptation to just eat one and suffer the consequences are there, and I may give in. I've tried all of their smoothies and they are all delicious. I'm excited about this place. I always thought we needed something on the East Race for walkers to stop and rest and grab a snack. The way that the Emporium foyer has been transformed is unbelievable, the building is something else. The lounge area outside of the creperie is so inviting. I tell everyone everyone "you have to go check out the Emporium building, there's a comedy club, and a cafe. It's so cute and loungy in there".

I wish there would be a note as to when the "summer remodeling" is going to be finished (as it is now mid September). At least note on yelp that you are closed so that we wouldn't have made the trip over, just to be greeted with a closed sign. Highly disappointing. I'll be more than happy to remove this review once this issue is addressed

If you're looking for quality coffee and good food in South Bend, I would have to say this is as good as it gets. I was pleasantly surprised to find a nice cafe in Indiana! Definitely worth it.

The food was good. Not great, but good. Had their Zesty Mexican crepe. Not nearly enough flavor for me. Kids had fruit crepes and they thoroughly enjoyed them. The employees were friendly and service was good. I took my parents (in their 80's) and my daughter and grandkids. So we had 4 generations there for what we had hoped would be a nice interactive meal. The seating is a disaster. A couple couches - a wobbly tv tray, and some uncomfortable hi top tables. Unless you are just running in for a smoothie or coffee it just isn't conducive to sitting down for a meal. I love the fact that they are Eco friendly with their wooden forks/knives but trying to cut the crepe with a dull wooden knife just doesn't "cut it". Pun intended. The takeaway is decent food but probably won't go back due to the seating arrangements.

Had a tasting (no charge). Awesome! Can't wait for smoothies, Crepes, and coffee to be open regular hours! They said August 18th they will be open 630am-9pm m-f and 9-9 on the weekend. Finally a Sunday brunch spot!

Just tried this place for the first time today. The crepes are phenomenal! And it also doesn't hurt that they have Intelligentsia coffee to go with them. We had the egg and veggie crepe and two of the specials (spinach artichoke and triple chocolate). I would recommend any of them.

The first of it's kind in downtown South Bend. They serve delicious sweet AND savory crêpes! Who knew you could do so much with a crêpe? The smoothies are very made. This is the only place in town that I know of that brews Intelligentsia Coffee! They also source all of their supplies locally!

It's crepe-tactic ! What an awesome much needed option for south bendians. Located in the emporium restaurant atrium this place has been open less than two weeks but serves up delicious authentic crepes. Small menu but very affordable with some sweet and savory options. Had the organic strawberry crepe and the Denver omelette style crepe. No complaints. Super fresh quality ingredients you can even watch him make it. Also I am not a big smoothie fan but strawberry smoothie was superb. Will definitely be back. Small dining area but very cute and cozy. Also I appreciate his use of recycled utensils, definitely support that.

This café at some point was renamed to "Smoothies, Crêpes, and Coffee" before assuming its original (and current) name. I have written a review for its previous name, so I'll treat this as an update. The business basically occupies what used to be the lobby of the Emporium building. In the beginning they had a loveseat and about half a dozen pub tables. It was ok if you just wanted a quick meal with coffee, but wasn't ideal for hanging out. Today their furniture set includes several more sofas, a couple of bean bags, and even a standard dining table where you can comfortably work on your laptop. They have free Wi-Fi too. On to the food. The crepes are standard, they have a fixed choice of crepes printed on the menu, as well as daily specials. Crepes are not fancy food, but the changing daily menu keeps them interesting. They have soup and it changes daily as well. The chili is good, and they have an assortment of hot sauces from a local vendor. The coffee is Intelligentsia brand that also changes from time to time. It's not espresso-based like Starbucks, the method used is Pour Over. If you've been to Vietnamese cafés and order their coffee, you'll recognize the technique (I think they adopted it from the French). They put the filter right on top of the cup, put the ground coffee in, then pour hot water over it and let the coffee liquid drip down. Obviously it's not as intense as espresso, but it's not scalding hot in the beginning, which is a plus for me because I can drink it right away. I'm not a coffee connoisseur, but to me the flavor and the aroma are usually good. Another thing worth mentioning again is their natural/organic and buy local philosophy. If these are causes you can support, then this is your place. By the way, they might be taking it a little too far by using wooden disposable knives. The wooden knife doesn't work well even to cut relatively soft crepes. Since I EDC a multitool I always use my own knife instead.

I absolutely love this cute little cafe. I went there for the first time the other day and had a delicious organic blueberry crepe. The coffee was delicious and I loved that they had Stevia as a flavoring option. The ambience was perfect for meeting my friend for breakfast. I love their efforts for sustainability such as their wooden utensils. I will definitely be coming back here and recommending it to all my friends and family. Yet another awesome DTSB eatery! :)

The coffee is great and the atmosphere is also very fresh. I thought the sweet crepe with the coffee was very good. The savory crepe was quite mediocre. The eggs inside were well over cooked and also somewhat bland. Eggs are delicate and need special care to taste their best. I would go back for the atmosphere and it is a great place to have in South Bend.

Organic, pour over Intelligentsia. Made-to-order, sweet and savory crepes. All natural, fresh fruit smoothies. Open kitchen. Affordable menu (all items less than $10). On-the-river location. What's not to love about this place?

DELICIOUS! The Cordon Bleu Crepe was AMAZING!! The gravity drip organic coffee was really good too. I will definitely be returning with more of my friends next time.

Outstanding crepes and coffee in a cool setting... its nice to see the Emporium building so well utilized. Very friendly service and high quality product at reasonable prices = lots of repeat business.

Delicious crepes, the best coffee I've had in South Bend, and it's at a beautiful spot right on the river. Smoothies looked delicious as well - looking forward to going back and trying one.
